In honor of my late son, Mashaun Asikari, ASIKARI PERFECT IMPACT, LLC. was established 2013. In my efforts of healing in response to my son's death, I initial believed that by helping others, I would be less focused on my own pain.  Surprisingly, I discovered that I was avoiding coping with the inevitable.  My thoughts and feelings resulting from my son committing suicide in 2012 at the age of 32 eventually surfaced.  As a mother, I continue to experience overthinking, anxiety, depression and at times, found myself not wanting to live life anymore.  In my search for ways to save myself, I realized the importance of self-preservation.  I finally acknowledged that in my journey of self-awareness no longer entertained pondering thoughts as to 'What I could have done to help my son' evolved to 'What did my son need that I could not provide to him'. 

Reflecting over the past 10 years, I realized that 'I became what my son needed'.  He needed a committed and dedicated mental health provider.  With this phenomenon catharsis, I can finally embrace my truth- I become not only what my son needed, but now more than ever, I truly understand my purpose with GREAT RESPECT.
